Privacy Policy for USB Screen Share & Cast to TV

Privacy Policy for USB Screen Share & Cast to TV

Effective Date: May 2026

This Privacy Policy applies to the USB Screen Share & Cast to TV mobile application ("App"). We are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring you have a positive experience while using our App.

This policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information, along with details about the permissions required for the App to function properly.

1. Information We Collect and How We Use It

Our App is designed to mirror and cast your mobile screen and media to your TV or PC. To provide these core features, the App operates locally on your device and network.

We do not collect, store, or transmit your personal screen data, photos, videos, or audio to any external servers.

However, to enable connectivity between your device and TV, certain Android permissions are required. Below is a clear explanation of each permission and its purpose.

A. Screen Mirroring & Audio Capture Permissions

  • Media Projection (FOREGROUND_SERVICE_MEDIA_PROJECTION):
Required to capture and stream your screen to a TV or web browser. All processing is done locally and never sent to external servers.

  • Record Audio (RECORD_AUDIO):
Used only for the "Audio Mirroring" feature to transmit device audio. We do not record or store microphone input.

  • Foreground Service (FOREGROUND_SERVICE):
Keeps the mirroring session active and stable while the app runs in the background.

B. Network & Connectivity Permissions

To discover and connect to smart TVs, Chromecasts, Roku devices, and PCs on your network:

  • INTERNET & NETWORK_STATE:
Enables network communication and connectivity checks.

  • ACCESS_WIFI_STATE & CHANGE_WIFI_STATE:
Helps identify your current Wi-Fi network for device discovery.

  • CHANGE_WIFI_MULTICAST_STATE:
Required for detecting DLNA and Chromecast devices.

C. Location & Nearby Devices Permissions

  • Location (ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION & ACCESS_COARSE_LOCATION):
We do not track your physical location.
These permissions are required by Android to scan for nearby Wi-Fi and Bluetooth devices.

  • Nearby Devices (NEARBY_WIFI_DEVICES):
Used on Android 12+ for discovering and connecting to nearby casting devices without needing location access.

  • Bluetooth (BLUETOOTH, BLUETOOTH_ADMIN, BLUETOOTH_SCAN, BLUETOOTH_CONNECT):
Enables detection and connection to Bluetooth-enabled devices.

D. User Interface & Notifications

  • Post Notifications (POST_NOTIFICATIONS):
Displays an ongoing notification while casting so you can stop it easily.

  • System Alert Window (SYSTEM_ALERT_WINDOW):
Enables floating controls for quick access (e.g., stop casting button).

  • Wake Lock (WAKE_LOCK):
Prevents your device from going into sleep mode during streaming.

  • Vibrate (VIBRATE):
Provides haptic feedback for user interactions.

2. Third-Party Services and Advertising

Our App may use third-party services that collect information to improve functionality and user experience. These services follow their own privacy policies.

Google AdMob & Advertising ID

  • Advertising ID (AD_ID):
Used by Google AdMob to display personalized ads based on your interests.

You can opt out of personalized ads anytime via:
Settings > Google > Ads > Opt out of Ads Personalization

For more details, review the Google Privacy Policy:

3. Data Retention and Security

Since the App does not collect or transmit personal data (such as media, screen content, or audio), there is no user data stored on our servers.

All streaming occurs locally over your private Wi-Fi network or USB connection.

We are committed to protecting your connection using commercially acceptable security practices.
